Prof. Carsten Bolm is a German chemist specializing in organic synthesis and mechanochemistry. He currently holds the chair in Organic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University and leads the Institute of Organic Chemistry there. Bolm’s research group focuses on preparative organic chemistry broadly, with historic and ongoing interests in enantioselective catalysis and organocatalysis.

With an extensive background spanning over two decades, he specializes in exploration geophysics applied to diverse fields including environmental, geothermal, and geological studies.

Dr. Zhang is interested in the exploration of clean energy. Her research focuses on the optimization of the energy and mineral exploration cycle from acquisition, interpretation, to discovery by incorporating economic factors. Her current research also focuses on the information-based economical geophysical data acquisition, which has the potential to significantly reduce the cost of exploration for subsurface energy and minerals and to accelerate discoveries.
